![]() Some of us like details and context while others just like to look. The time spent at the 4 stops + visitor center wasn't nearly enough to even understand what you were looking at in the Canyon and after stop two it seemed to be all the same thing. A movie of Bruce Canyon played as we got close, but it was difficult to hear the TV with all the wind noise. James kept us awake on the tour bus with his stories and humor. We made one additional stop to get gas and then we were in Bryce Canyon. The 10 min stop didn't make much sense considering we just got on the bus and the little cafe at Maverick had one person staffed for a line with about 8 people waiting. James picked us up on time and we stopped at Maverick by the Las Vegas sign to pick up lunches and a quick restroom break. You drive for close to 5 hours only to touch pavement and turn right back around. Yes, you only spend about 3 hours at the Canyon and it's quick, probably too quick. The tour starts at 6 and you're back in Las Vegas by 7pm. There is so much to do that you'll feel cheated, especially if coming from Las Vegas. I've sent you a message with my email! Thank you for choosing DETOURS and I do hope you'll choose us again in the future! -KateĪ great tour and time well spent, but it may make more sense to rent a car to this destination and spend a night in a hotel or motel. If you would like to discuss your feedback further, please do reach out to me directly. We've never had that complaint before so we will certainly make sure it doesn't happen again. We wish we could narrate the Power Plant tour too! Unfortunately since the Dam is a government regulated facility, there's not much we can do about that :/ Also I've notified our partners at Great Buns! Bakery that your cinnamon roll was a bit dry. Tardiness is certainly not something that happens often for us but occasionally traffic gets backed up on the Strip. Our tour was running a bit behind that day so I apologize for the twenty or so minutes we were late for your pick-up. I'm so sorry you had to wait for your tour pick-up. We do offer private tours for guests who would prefer to spend more time at the Dam, but we find that most people are like yourself and feel a half day is adequate for this tour. Hi Savi, thank you for your feedback! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed your tour of the Hoover Dam - of course, we are not so pleased you only had a three-star experience! Tony is a terrific guide and knows so much about the Southwest. We want to return to Las Vegas and will certainly be doing another Tour with Detour Tours. He put his heart and soul into this tour even driving us by the Hard Rock Café on the way back when I asked for advice about how to get there from the Tropicana Hotel. It's a long drive and we met a crazy driver at one point but Jim was right in there and did an amazing bit of driving. And Grand Canyon Village and the train which we really wanted to see too. Really great time at the Grand Canyon and Jim knew where to get the best views and was determined we should see some Elk which we did. And we loved going through Ash Fork on the return journey.A real bit of old America. ![]() Food was good with chance to get a nice coffee on the way too. My daughter and I were the only two on the tour on 20th April and so we had a private tour all the way to the Grand Canyon! Jim, our guide, was THE BEST! We set off ahead of schedule and Jim was able to tell us everything about what we were seeing, about the history of the area and how it is today. We learnt so much! Carefully thought-out stops with clean restrooms. We booked the South Rim Tour through Virgin Holidays Concierge at our hotel.
